TRACEABILITY
from farm to wardrobe
You deserve to know where your clothes come from. Here's what we can show you today, and where we're still doing the work.
your favorite chunky knit starts here
The cotton farm
Govardhan Agro Food Organic Producer Group — Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, India. Certified organic cotton, grown in the ground.
Ginning & Spinning
Tayal Cotton Pvt. Ltd handles the ginning and Maral Overseas, Noida, India does the spinning. At Maral, the raw fiber is separated and spun into yarn — the same facility that handles dyeing, so the chain stays tight.
Everything else
Purecotz Eco Lifestyles, Umbergaon, Gujarat, India. Knitting, dyeing, finishing, cutting, stitching, QC, packing. We've been there. We know the people.
To you — with a certificate
Every knitwear shipment arrives with a GOTS Transaction Certificate. It's a third-party document confirming certified materials stayed certified the whole way through. You can ask us for it.
labels are only useful if they mean something
GOTS
Global Organic Textile Standard. Covers both the organic status of fibers and the conditions people work in. Audited by an independent third party — not self-declared.
ZDHC
Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals. The dyes in our knitwear are tested against a global protocol designed to keep harmful chemistry out of waterways and away from workers.
FAIRTRADE
The cotton farmers growing our fiber were paid a fair price. Full stop. Standards also cover working conditions and community investment.
OEKO-TEX
Materials tested for harmful substances against an independent standard. Applies across our broader range where GOTS is not yet in place.
our other partners
We also produce with Vetrivel Tex in Tirupur, India (GOTS certified) and partners in Italy. We hold certification info for both — and we're building the same depth of traceability we have for knitwear.
We'd rather say we're still building this than pretend we've arrived. It's what doing the work honestly looks like.
